Last week, the Intercontinental Hotel Barcelona opened its doors. The hotel sits in the middle of the Montjuc neighborhood. Montjuc is a picturesque hill that overlooks the harbor and offers stunning views of Barcelona, located southwest of the city. The Palau Nacional, an iconic palace erected in 1929 that today houses the National Museum of Catalan Art, is located nearby.
Natural wood interiors are incorporated into soft furnishings in Mediterranean hues such as blue, ochre, and neutral tones. A 180-square-meter Presidential Suite, as well as 17 Junior Suites with breathtaking views of Barcelona, are available at the InterContinental Barcelona.
There are three restaurants and bars at the hotel:
Quirat, the hotel’s main restaurant, will be led by Victor Torres, Spain’s youngest Michelin-starred chef. Quirat will serve a carefully curated meal that will provide guests with a one-of-a-kind experience centered on the chef’s interpretation of the soil. All of the dishes will be cooked with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are in season.
The second restaurant, Arrel, has an open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs work while eating a variety of sharing meals. Arrel will serve a breakfast buffet to hotel guests, as well as a daily set menu and a limited à la carte menu for lunch and dinner.
The hotel’s Gebre Cocktail and More bar serve a variety of classic and signature drinks, as well as the Boira Coffee Lounge and the 173 Rooftop Terrace, which provides guests a seasonable swimming pool and amazing 360-degree views of Barcelona.
The Spa, which spans 1,200 square meters and includes a hydrotherapy pool, jets, and water beds, as well as a steam bath, sauna, and hammam, is one of the city’s largest spas. There are also six treatment rooms, two of which are doubles, where clients can enjoy Natura Bissé Spa treatments.
