The launch of the Andaz Mexico City Condesa, the second Andaz hotel in the nation and the first urban location in Mexico, was announced by Hyatt Hotels Corporation. The hotel provides quick access to restaurants, shops, and art galleries thanks to its location in the Condesa district, which is renowned for its rich history and culture. Andaz Mexico City Condesa stands out in the area because to its rooftop restaurant with a beach club theme, pet-friendly facilities, on-site spa, and one of the tallest outdoor terraces in the vicinity.
The 1961-built Conjuto Aristos, presently known as the “i421 Live District,” which houses the new hotel. The building was designated a Mexico City Heritage Site and is regarded as a true masterpiece of Mexican architecture. It was created by renowned architect José Luis Benlliure Galán, who is credited with introducing Art Deco architecture to Mexico City. Since then, the structure has undergone thorough restoration and preservation in recognition of the geometric beauty and architectural authority it possesses in the Condesa district. The ancient masterpiece may be brought back to life with the help of the Andaz Mexico City Condesa, which embodies the local culture while providing a supremely luxurious experience that awakens the senses.
The Andaz Mexico City Condesa’s interiors combine a contemporary edge with Art Deco design to reflect the city’s dynamic style and global influence. A magenta staircase, hot pink walls, and saffron sofas, representative of the bright neighborhood in which it is located, are just a few examples of how playful colors in the hotel transform commonplace items into a sparkplug for imagination and creativity. Such details, a tribute to the distinctive design of Mexican architect Luis Barragán, blend in effortlessly with the varied character of the Condesa district while preserving a striking but opulent appeal.
20 suites are among the hotel’s 213 residentially designed guestrooms, all of which have views of either the Condesa neighborhood’s tree-lined roads, a lavish internal courtyard, or, from higher up, expansive vistas of Mexico City. Designer Byredo toiletries, a workstation, and a minibar with Mexican foods and drinks from nearby businesses are available as amenities.
The carefully chosen artwork in each guest room conveys a sense of location, from mosaic-tile headboards that honor the historical value of the building to handcrafted paper mache piata sculptures called “alebrijes” by regional artists. In honor of the neighborhood’s oldest record business, La Roma Records, each guestroom also has a record player with a selection of contemporary and vintage vinyl records that may be traded in the lobby library.
Andaz Mexico City Condesa’s dining options enhance the neighborhood’s booming culinary scene, keeping with the neighborhood’s status as the city’s culinary capital. The hotel’s 17th floor terrace, where Cabuya Rooftop restaurant is located, has a beach-club vibe inspired by Tulum. It also features a weekend D.J. sets. With a selection of shareable seafood dishes like smoked marlin tostadas topped with onions, tomato, cilantro, and habanero aioli and grouper “zarandeado,” a 500-year-old fish grilling technique from Mexico’s Pacific Coast, seasoned with peppers, tomatoes, and spices, a seasonal menu highlights coastal Baja and Yucatan-inspired flavors. The meal is complemented with a distinctive cocktail program created by local mixology expert Moisés Sierra Sáenz, which includes unique agave concoctions like the Pechuga Tonic, which is prepared with mezcal de pechuga, tonic water, orange and mandarin tastes, and sparkling wine on top. The warm Derba Matcha Café, an all-day eatery on the first floor of the hotel, is the ideal spot to refuel before a day of discovery or in between trips to surrounding stores. The menu offers handcrafted sweet breads, small meals, matchas, lattes, mushroom coffee, drinks, and more that are full of flavor and aroma.
The hotel’s Wooftop Beer Garden and Canine Club is poised to become a well-liked playground for visitors and residents to bring their furry pals, and it was inspired by the Condesa neighborhood’s tolerance of dogs. The indoor/outdoor space, which is located on the second-floor terrace, includes a stationary food truck serving drinks and snacks, including a special “dog beer,” a temporary pet accessory store from the neighborhood shop Perro del Mundo, as well as lots of room to play and explore.
Along with this pet-friendly hangout, the Andaz Mexico City Condesa offers a variety of sophisticated in-room amenities, including plush dog beds and a menu of dog-friendly snacks including vegan poke, salmon, baked biscuits, and more. The hotel’s heated rooftop pool is open all year long and offers spectacular views of the vast metropolis below. Visitors and locals can find relief on the second floor of the hotel at Pasana Spa & Wellness, a sanctuary of relaxation respecting Mexican ancestors’ use of salt as a source of defense and utilizing native Mexican goods. The spa’s menu offers a variety of wellness rituals, face treatments, body cleanses, and relaxing massages that combine traditional techniques with modern ones. The spa’s unique service, the “Protection Ritual,” uses the thermal properties of volcanic salt to relax the muscles, calm the mind, and safeguard the spirit. The facility itself features a 24-hour fitness center, a relaxation area, an on-site beauty salon, and four treatment rooms.
The hotel is furnished with more than 12,674 square feet of cutting-edge meeting and event spaces for groups of up to 700 people, including a glass ceiling ballroom with adjustable color LED lighting technology and an adjacent terrace, an auditorium, and three breakout rooms.
