The 128-room Hyatt House Sacramento/Midtown has officially opened, according to the announcement from Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Twenty Four Seven Hotels. The former Eastern Star Hall, which is situated in the center of Sacramento’s artistic, musical, and cultural scene, was transformed as part of the adaptive reuse project, owned and developed by Hume Development, Inc. In the western United States, Twenty Four Seven Hotels is a third-party hospitality management firm that specializes in the premium-branded, select-service, and lifestyle hotel segments.
The pet- and family-friendly hotel is close to Capital Mall, Crocker Art Museum, and the Old Sacramento Waterfront and is located at 2719 K Street in the Sutter District. Kitchens are available in 87 of the guestrooms, which are perfect for long stays and are designed to resemble studio flats.
Four suites with separate bedrooms are also available at the Hyatt House Sacramento/Midtown, two of which are speciality owner suites with high ceilings and Restoration Hardware fixtures. Free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour fitness center, guest laundry, a business center, and 700 square feet of adaptable meeting space are just a few of the hotel’s features.
Visitors can have a quick snack at the hotel’s grab-and-go convenience store or a full breakfast in the free breakfast bar. Additionally, the hotel’s third-floor Star Lounge restaurant and bar serves meals to both visitors and residents. The meeting place status of Star Lounge is maintained through its happy hour, creative craft cocktail menu, and dinner menu of small plates, burgers, and steaks. Chef Graham Forbes, formerly the chef de cuisine of the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, is in charge of the lounge.
The National Register of Historic Places lists the Romanesque Revival-style structure, which was constructed in 1928 and originally used as a gathering place for Masonic women. The renovation included the redevelopment of five floors within the original structure, including the lobby, restaurant, fitness center, and meeting space, as well as the addition of a new three-story annex that includes additional hotel rooms, all while maintaining the historic building’s main architectural features. By utilizing the old front doors, tables, plaster, masonry, and a reused pulpit as the host’s stand, the hotel’s history is interwoven throughout the entire structure.
