The first Hyatt Centric hotel in Canada, located in the heart of Old Montréal, is now accepting reservations and features 177 contemporary, upmarket guestrooms.
In partnership with international real estate developer Jesta Group, Hyatt Hotels Corporation formally unveiled the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Canada, Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal. With 177 contemporary, upscale guestrooms, including five suites, a signature restaurant fusing British and Québec cuisines, a rooftop pool (scheduled for summer 2023), and four fully furnished meeting and event spaces covering nearly 5,000 square feet, the property is conveniently located in Old Montréal. The hotel offers discerning visitors a starting point for discovery, giving them the chance to explore Montréal’s historic Old Montréal district and all that it has to offer.
The lifestyle hotel is situated in Old Montréal, a charming Parisian-style district, at the nexus of old and new. The hotel’s ideal location offers visitors within walking distance of the bustling Place Jacques-Cartier, renowned restaurants and shops, a vibrant nightlife scene, cultural attractions, and downtown Montréal.
“Montréal and particularly the neighborhood of Old Montréal offers an experience unlike most destinations in North America, as it boasts European flair and offers countless local and international events annually, making it an ideal location for this milestone opening,” “Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal marks a special debut for the Hyatt Centric brand in Canada, and we’ve set the bar very high to deliver an unparalleled and authentic experience for guests in the heart of Old Montréal,” says Anthony O’Brien, Jesta Group’s senior managing director. “This property has been developed to celebrate the deep history and vibrancy of the neighborhood and all it has to offer. We look forward to welcoming visitors and Montréalers alike for an incomparable experience.” “As part of the evolution of a dynamic neighborhood rich with history, Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal is housed within the Place Gare Viger development, infusing new life into a deep-rooted and profound part of the city.”
The landmark Place Viger, which was one of the earliest train stations ever constructed in Canada and served as the network’s terminus for the Canadian Pacific Railway, is the center of the new urban campus Place Gare Viger, which is emerging in the heart of Old Montréal. Place Gare Viger, which drew inspiration from the French château-style of the Hotel Viger station, offers cutting-edge residential complex, Hyatt Centric Ville-Mare Montréal, as well as modern and creative office spaces, all in the heart of a bustling area.
The hotel features bright and contemporary designs by local Montréal designers and architects, including the lobby and meeting room design by Ivy Studio; and the main design and architecture by Provencher Roy. The Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal’s interior design has been meticulously chosen to highlight its regional influences, iconography, and culture. The Normand brick, white polished concrete, and zinc metal used in the building’s façade were inspired by the nearby castle, the area’s medieval church roofs, and the iconographic clock tower on the waterfront, which is only a short distance from the hotel. In addition, the Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal’s lobby features metal arches and wood paneling that are reminiscent of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. To create a retro-modern atmosphere, the lobby also features Terrazzo floor tiles and artwork that is influenced by railroads.
The welcoming lobby, friendly staff, and vibrant colors of the Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal make it easy for visitors to unwind and feel at home thanks to the hotel’s upmarket modern comfort and instagrammable art and design details that highlight the uniqueness of the location. Each of the hotel’s five 600-square-foot suites offers a king bed, separate living area and workspace, a 60″ flat-screen HDTV, an iPod dock, and much more. Additionally, each guestroom offers a creative and compact design with multifunctional elements, such as a 55″ flat-screen HDTV, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, blackout curtains, a minifridge, and more.
The Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal provides numerous meeting and event rooms for business travelers that are suitable for any workshop, small conference, seminar, or event. The four meeting spaces are situated on the hotel’s main level and come equipped with the most recent audiovisual hybrid technology from Encore Global. They also include floor-to-ceiling windows that provide stunning views of the city or the hotel’s inner courtyard.
The hotel’s vibrant on-site restaurant, Cartier Arms, is run by the well-known Burgundy Lion Group, which is known for serving meals that are both regionally inspired and imaginatively presented. The handcrafted drinks and Quebéc-British fusion food at Cartier Arms evoke the heyday of the railroads at the turn of the 20th century. A 130-seat restaurant, a 30-person terrace, and a 20-person private dining room are all included in Cartier Arms.
“Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal marks a special debut for the Hyatt Centric brand in Canada, and we’ve set the bar very high to deliver an unparalleled and authentic experience for guests in the heart of Old Montréal,” says Anthony O’Brien, Jesta Group’s senior managing director. “This property has been developed to celebrate the deep history and vibrancy of the neighborhood and all it has to offer. We look forward to welcoming visitors and Montréalers alike for an incomparable experience.”
