Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has revealed its 2023-24 sailing program along Norway’s coast.
Between Bergen and Kirkenes, the cruise itineraries visit 34 small and large coastal settlements.
Every day, fresh ingredients are supplied to the ships, and aboard chefs collaborate with over 50 local vendors along the coast.
Passengers can attend lectures and participate in activities organized by the ships’ onboard guides, which include more than 70 alternative beach excursions.
Customers can opt for emission-free tours on electric catamarans and tour buses.
The cruise service claims it is “sure the Northern Lights will make an appearance on your 12- or 11-day excursion” because winter is the prime Northern Lights season in Norway.
Passengers will be given a free six- or seven-day excursion if the lights do not show.
Hurtigruten Norway’s CEO, Hedda Felin, stated: “With almost 130 years of experience and history, the ship acts as a lifeline for small communities along the coast.
“Our guests can experience the ‘world’s most beautiful voyage’ on board modern and comfortable ships that also continue the tradition of carrying cargo and local passengers, a vital part of everyday life along the coast.
“We are very proud of operating a legacy journey with such strong traditions, but which through innovations make it sustainable, modern, and still relevant for both our international travellers, local passengers and the local businesses that rely on us for the transportation of goods.”
Hurtigruten Norway is part of the Hurtigruten Group, which also includes Hurtigruten Expeditions, the world’s largest and most well-known expedition cruise company, and Hurtigruten Svalbard, which offers a wide range of land-based activities.
