Hurtigruten has announced two new Norwegian coastal itineraries for 2023 on its Trollfjord ship.
The 16-day round-trip Svalbard Express – Full Voyage will debut on 3rd June 2023, just one month before the company’s 130th anniversary, and the inaugural 14-day North Cape Express – Full Voyage will depart on September 26, 2023.
Prices for the Svalbard Express – Full Voyage begin at £3,640, with departures from Bergen scheduled from June to September of next year.
Tromso, Longyearbyen, and Ny-lesund are among the ports of call.
The North Cape Express – Full Voyage with the operator’s Northern Lights Promise starts at £2,415.
Alta, Tromso, Alesund, and Oslo are among the ports of call.
Departures are scheduled between September 2023 and March 2024.
If the Northern Lights do not appear on their North Cape Express sailing, the line will give passengers a free six or seven-day Classic Voyage.
The itineraries, according to Hurtigruten, provide a “significantly different experience” than the Coastal Express itinerary.
There will be port visits for half or full days, cooking classes, wine, beer, champagne, and whisky tastings, an onboard cocktail bar, and entertainment.
Cooking demonstrations and classes are available to passengers at an onboard food center.
Cargo will be transported between ports as with the line’s Coastal Express itinerary.
Hedda Felin, the company’s CEO, stated: “For almost 130 years, we have been carrying travellers on what is often referred to as ‘the most beautiful voyage in the world’.
“With the Svalbard Express and North Cape Express, we will offer an experience similar to the likes of the Orient Express, combining a premium onboard experience with beautiful scenery, exceptional excursions, and some of the best food on any sea.”
