Holland America’s Grand World Cruises to Stop at 95 Locations

Two Holland America Line ships set out on their magnificent voyages from Fort Lauderdale. The combined itineraries, which offer 202 days of cruising and sail roundtrip from the company’s Florida homeport, are scheduled to stop at 95 different locations.

The Zuiderdam and the Volendam, which are traveling over 50,000 miles to various areas of the world, will stop in 43 nations across six continents.

With the Zuiderdam, the company’s Grand World Cruises made a triumphant return. They will circumnavigate the world in 128 days. The itinerary, according to Holland America, carries on a 65-year heritage of global voyages for Holland America Line.

“With overnight stays in Panama, French Polynesia, Australia, South Africa and the Netherlands, this itinerary truly lives up to the name grand,” said Gus Antorcha, president, Holland America Line, in a prepared statement.

“This is our first world cruise since before the industry pause, and our teams and guests have been planning for this day for a long time,” he added.

The Volendam, meanwhile, set out for South America and Antarctica on a 74-day journey. The program includes a four-day cruise as well as a full tour of the subcontinent.

According to Holland America, the ships will offer nearly 900,000 meals across the trips, along with 35,000 speciality coffee beverages, 29,000 litres of ice cream, and 155,000 cocktails.

The business estimates that over 1 million eggs will be utilized by the staffs of the two ships, and that passengers would also consume 81,00 bottles of champagne and wine.

Over 2,500 live performances will be given throughout the 202 days of cruise by the Zuiderdam and Volendam’s entertainment departments.

A 73-day trip to Africa is among the long journeys that Holland America Line plans to offer in 2023.

The route includes a round-trip voyage from Fort Lauderdale and circumnavigates Africa, calling at ports in Cape Town, Zanzibar, and Dakar.
