Holland America Line (HAL) welcomed back its ninth ship, Oosterdam, for the first time since the industry-wide pause began in 2020 owing to the Covid-19 outbreak, on Sunday, 8th May.
The ship set out on a 12-day voyage through the Holy Lands and Ancient Kingdoms, which includes an overnight stay in Haifa and stops in Israel and Greece.
HAL performed a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the terminal, with flag-waving fanfare from team members lined up to greet guests as they boarded the ship, which was attended by the ship’s captain and top officers.
HAL President Gus Antorcha stated, “Our teams work incredibly hard getting the ships ready for a return to service, and the smiles when they see our guests walking up the gangway that first time are so heartfelt and sincere.”
