Fresh pasta prepared onboard and traditional Italian dishes is included on Holland America Line’s newly renovated Canaletto menu.
Only serving dinner, the Canaletto specialty restaurant provides an authentic Italian experience with freshly produced pasta from Holland America Line’s chefs. Small appetisers, entrées cooked with homemade pasta, and desserts are all included in the three-course meal on the new menu. Furthermore, a daily special will be available.
“The pasta we make on board is exceptional and we want the updated menu to continue to reflect an Italian experience with a focus on freshness and authenticity,” said Michael Stendebach, Holland America Line’s vice president, of food and beverage. “Each course has a selection that brings the flavors of Italy on board no matter where our ships are cruising, and the update adds some exciting new dishes and cocktails.”
Prosciutto di parma, finocchiona salami, truffle salami, Terre Ducali coppa, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Sicilian olives may be found in Canaletto’s small plates, including the well-known Antipasto Plate. Other choices include grilled tiger shrimp, burrata, Canaletto salad, and meatballs with sage and veal.
Casarecce Pesto Genovese, Italian Sausage Paccheri, Seared Mediterranean Seabass, Mussels, Scallops and Calamari Trenette, and other new dishes are served at the restaurant. Visitors can also indulge in re-orders of old favourites like Herb and Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast and Chianti-Braised Beef Short Rib.
The classic Italian desserts Tiramisu, Lemon Ricotta Baked Cheesecake, Chocolate Hazelnut Tart, Affogato, and freshly produced gelato are available for customers to indulge their sweet craving.
