The launch of Hilton Santa Marta, the company’s second hotel in Colombia’s oldest Hispanic city, was announced by Hilton today. The modern 261-room hotel with a view of the Caribbean Sea is close to the beach and conveniently situated close to the Sierra Nevada mountains and Tayrona National Natural Park’s prehistoric ruins. The recently built hotel offers a variety of amenities, more than 11,000 square feet of adaptable conference and event space, and five distinctive eating options.
The Hilton Santa Marta provides a perfect position for visitors to the city, being only eight miles from the city’s historic center and four miles from Simon Bolivar International Airport.
The Tayrona National Natural Park, a natural reserve with more than 37,000 acres of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear seas tucked against a lush, highland forest, is accessible from Santa Marta, the first Spanish colony founded in 1525. Indigenous villages, archaeological sites, and a variety of flora and fauna can all be found inside the land and sea park.
With materials like stones, wood, metal, and crystals, Hilton Santa Marta’s modern architecture draws inspiration from its surroundings to create a posh and inviting atmosphere. The hotel’s main entrance has a water mirror made of Tayrona stone and a metal façade inspired by the adjacent coral reefs, allowing the interior and exterior to harmoniously blend together through the flow of natural light.
The hotel’s architectural concept extends into the hallways connecting the rooms, where local artists engraved woodwork to display the area’s various marine species, such as manta rays, lionfish, and turtles. Huge guestrooms provide balconies with views of the beach or mountains, lots of storage space, and a large shower. Suites featuring a separate living area with a sofa bed allow guests to spread out for those looking for more room, especially the Ocean Front Suite Terrace with its expansive furnished terrace with a hot tub, huge living room, and roomy dining area.
Five distinctive culinary ideas are available at Hilton Santa Marta, showcasing both regional specialties and global delicacies. The names of the restaurants are inspired by the Arhuaco language.
The restaurant and bar Nuggu, which means “salt,” honors Colombia’s rich past with real Latin soul food and Caribbean Creole delicacies. Open every day for breakfast, lunch, and supper, visitors may also drop by at any time of the day for a cocktail or glass of wine.
The second-floor restaurant Waku, which means “fish” in Arhuaco, is close to the hotel’s spa and fitness center and serves a variety of seafood and the catch of the day in a lively setting.
At the pool bar Uzu, or “sand,” guests may unwind with a casual lunch inspired by cultures around the world and cool beverages that celebrate regional fruits.
On the 16th story of the hotel is Sikunu, or “slingshot,” the city’s tallest rooftop bar and nightclub.
The Creole menu draws inspiration from the flowers of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and prehistoric cultures. The Arhuaco served as a base for several signature drinks, including a maceration of clove and anise.
From the hotel’s beach club, visitors may take in the beach and the renowned Santa Marta sunset while sipping on a variety of appetizers and cocktails.
The Hilton Santa Marta offers a variety of activities for people of all ages, whether they are traveling for work or pleasure with loved ones or friends. At the beach club or the family pool on the second floor, visitors can relax and soak up the sun.
Visit Sikunu Sky Bar, the city’s tallest rooftop bar, with awe-inspiring views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Caribbean Sea while you unwind in the hot tub or the infinity pool for adults only. The hotel will open a Kids’ Club, a spa with six treatment rooms, a beauty salon, and a private bar for Hilton Honors members and visitors staying in suites later this year.
The Hilton Santa Marta provides more than 11,000 square feet of adaptable event space, including eight conference rooms and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 450 guests, whether organizing a meeting or a social event. The Hilton Santa Marta is the ideal location for an outdoor event with breathtaking views because it has a terrace on the 16th level.
