Gulf Air will launch a new direct flight from Bahrain to Manchester.
Manchester Airport said the route will begin with two flights each week on 1st June and will benefit businesses, tourism organizations, universities, and individuals visiting friends and family.
Currently, 28,000 individuals from the airport’s catchment region commute to Bahrain indirectly. These include people visiting family and friends as well as companies doing business in the Middle East.
Further two million passengers from the north of England fly to Gulf Air’s onward destinations that are not currently served by Manchester Airport, making the route useful for travelers looking to visit Bangkok, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Interim Managing Director of Manchester airport, Ian Costigan, said: “It’s great news that Gulf Air is starting direct flights from Manchester airport, and I am sure it will be incredibly well received by the thousands of people in our catchment area that travel there indirectly each year.”
