According to Greece’s health minister, certain domestic limitations, such as wearing masks indoors and having a Covid vaccination certificate, would be lifted for the forthcoming summer season.
Visitors and members of the public will not be required to provide immunization or illness certificates to attend indoor or open places, such as restaurants, from 1st May to 31st August.
The abolition of international entry criteria, such as the necessity to produce proof of immunization, recent recovery from Covid, or a negative test to enter Greece, is also being considered, according to Greek health minister Thanos Plevris, who spoke to the media on Tuesday (12th April).
As of 1st June, wearing a mask in an indoor setting will no longer be required.
Plevris stated that the decision to relax domestic limits was made “on the basis of epidemiological data and expert recommendations,” adding that authorities will consider reinstalling the measures in September.
The Foreign Office of the United Kingdom has yet to revise its own guidance for Greece.
