In collaboration with partners Pure Health and Tamouh Healthcare, Abu Dhabi Airports has announced free Covid-19 PCR tests for all passengers arriving in to the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
Test results will be available within 90 minutes and during this time, passengers will not be allowed to leave the airport. Up to 20,000 passengers and employees can be tested per day as a result of additional laboratory capacity.
The new real time PCR (RT-PCR) testing process is designed to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of passengers and staff at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Abu Dhabi Airports’ chief executive, Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, said: “The introduction of the RT-PCR Covid-19 testing is a milestone achievement in our ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe resumption of international air travel and support the recovery of the aviation industry.”
All passengers arriving at terminals 1 and 3 at Abu Dhabi International Airport will be tested for free at the new facility. Passengers arriving from one of Abu Dhabi’s designated “green” countries who receive a negative PCR test and will not be required to self-isolate.
Arrivals from countries not on the “green” list will be given a quarantine wristband and will be required to self-isolate for ten days. Transit passengers will not be eligible for the free tests.
