Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to operate the former Hotel Formentor in Mallorca, Spain. The existing hotel, which first opened in 1929, will undergo extensive renovations before reopening as a Four Seasons branded resort in 2023.
The hotel will feature 110 rooms and suites and will be located on a 1,200-hectare plot of land on the Formentor Peninsula. The resort will offer access to a pristine beach and a working vineyard just a five-minute drive away.
“Following our entry into Spain in 2020, we are very excited to continue this momentum and expand our presence in this important market with a resort in Mallorca, offering guests a unique Four Seasons experience in a top European destination,” said the Chief Executive of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, John Davison.
Mallorca can be reached by ferry or a short flight from Barcelona, with additional direct flights available from many European cities. The island is the largest in the Balearics and its accessibility and natural beauty and have long made it a popular tourism destination for European and international visitors.
