Finnair has reopened its Platinum Wing lounge at Helsinki Airport, which had been closed for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Nordic-inspired lounge has separate working and relaxing areas, as well as upgraded dining options and fine wines. There is also a private sauna for passengers to unwind before their flights.
The table service a la carte menu at the lounge features dishes with a “Nordic twist,” such as a blueberry margarita and reindeer burgers.
The bar serves vintage champagne, fine wines, beers, and spirits, as well as summer cocktails, mocktails, and barista coffee.
Finnair’s head of airport customer experience, David Kondo, stated: “We know our customers love the Platinum Wing, so we are very excited to reopen and welcome back guests with great personal service and exciting new dining options.
“The sleek design, taking cues from the best of Nordic furniture design tradition and Nordic nature, is used throughout the lounge and is followed through onboard on newly designed long-haul business class, brand new premium economy cabin and refreshed economy seats.”
The lounge is located within the airport’s non-Schengen zone, so passengers flying to London or Finnair’s Far East and US destinations can use it. Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo and Platinum members, as well as Oneworld Emerald cardholders, are eligible.
