Launching today, Finnair’s new Mumbai route has been “scheduled to provide for simple connections” with flights to and from the significant UK and Irish airports.
The Helsinki-Mumbai route will first run three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays before expanding to four times per week starting in November on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The route, Finnair’s second to India, will be run using a two-class Airbus A330 with a choice of business or economy.
Flights from Helsinki arrive in Mumbai around 5.15am (+1) after leaving at 5.55pm. Helsinki is reached by return flights at 2:05pm, leaving Mumbai at 7:10am.
The Finnish airline claimed that connections to important UK and Irish hubs like Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin “had been precisely timed to provide for easy connections.”
With all services running out of the same terminal, it states that transfers in Helsinki may take as little as 35 minutes.
Daily flights to Helsinki are offered by Finnair from London and Dublin, as well as frequent flights from Manchester and Edinburgh.
Sakari Romu, general manager of Finnair in India, stated: “We are very excited to start our operations from Mumbai. Our three-weekly flights serve our customers not only in providing a connection to Finland but also to our network in the US and major European cities.”
