Finnair and Turkish Airlines have formed a code-share agreement in order to increase passenger connections.
Between Helsinki and Istanbul, as well as between Istanbul and Athens, Sofia, Thessaloniki, Amman, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, Antalya, and Gazipasa, Turkish Airlines will begin using the Finnair AY code on 29th September.
At the same time, the Turkish Airlines TK code will be added to a number of flights departing from Finnair’s Helsinki hub, including Kuopio, Vaasa, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi, Reykjavik, Tallinn, Tartu, Riga, Vilnius, Antalya, and Gazipasa.
Ole Orver, the CEO of Finnair, said: “We are happy to be able to offer more options to Finnair customers, as travel now starts to recover and they are again able to fulfill their travel dreams.
“We also welcome Turkish Airlines’ customers to explore the Nordics through our extensive network of connections from Helsinki.”
Turkish Airlines’ chief investment and technology officer, Ahmet Bolat Phd, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our current interline co-operation in terms of this codeshare agreement with Finnair.
“With the introduction of joint flights on several destinations in Finland, Turkey and Baltics, Iceland, south Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, our customers will enjoy the extra choice provided by the combined flights.”
