The addition of a Seattle route to Finnair’s transatlantic network is planned for next summer.
Flights from Stockholm to New York and Los Angeles will be available throughout the summer.
Beginning 1st June, Seattle will be served three times a week from Helsinki, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
For summer 2022, the number of connecting flights from Heathrow to Helsinki will increase to four per day, with wide-bodied aircraft flying two of the four daily frequencies.
Due to the international time difference, departing west-bound passengers will appear to land 15 minutes before they take off, with planes leaving Helsinki at 5.55 pm and arriving in Seattle at 5.40 pm local time the same day.
The return flight departs Seattle at 7.20 p.m. and arrives in Helsinki at 2.50 p.m. the next day.
Ole Orver, Finnair’s chief commercial officer, said: “We are delighted to offer more connections between the US and Northern Europe.
“Seattle is a fantastic destination for leisure travelers who enjoy vibrant city life and beautiful nature. We also expect this new connection to be a pleasant surprise for many business travelers.”
