For visitors from outside Fiji, all Covid travel restrictions have been eliminated.
A risk mitigation taskforce in the South Pacific island nation carefully considered the local and international Covid-19 scenario before removing the last set of entrance limitations.
Before, all travelers who were 16 years of age or older had to show documentation of a complete immunization record and travel insurance that covered the Covid-19 virus.
The move is in response to 636,312 visitors to Fiji in 2022, which is defined as a robust recovery exceeding planned expectations. It affects both air and marine arrivals.
The country’s administration declared: “Consistent with the experience in other countries with high vaccination rates, Fiji will no longer have any Covid-19 related border health measures.
“Fiji’s border authorities will continue to review border health measures and maintain community surveillance for early warning of future threats while fostering socio-economic recovery.”
Tourism Fiji chief executive Brent Hill said: “The industry welcomes the decision to remove all protocols, restrictions, vaccination requirements and Covid-19 tests – and invites the world to come and experience Fiji: where happiness comes naturally.
“We still strongly encourage travellers to have travel insurance and take the necessary precautions we all know well to stay healthy and maximise their fun in Fiji.”
