Fasano Group announces the launch of its second property in the city’s capital, this time in the Itaim-Bibi neighbourhood, exactly 20 years after the opening of Fasano So Paulo Jardins, the hotel that established the idea of opulent hospitality in Brazil. Unquestionably, one of the most eagerly anticipated construction projects of the year in the city’s new commercial centre is the new Fasano So Paulo Itaim, the Group’s ninth hotel. The new building, which will debut in May 2023, pays respect to the original Hotel in So Paulo while also introducing fresh features to reflect the passing of time between the two buildings.
The Hotel Fasano So Paulo Itaim demonstrates the Group’s aggressive international expansion, which also includes the two most recent openings of Fasano Fifth Avenue in New York City and Fasano Trancoso in Bahia, Brazil, and continues its fruitful collaboration with JHSF.
Fasano invited architect Marcio Kogan, who also oversaw the design for Fasano So Paulo Jardins, to bring classic touches from the brand’s Italian heritage while also introducing contemporary flourishes to the interior design for the first time, in order to preserve the brand’s distinctive appearance and historical references.
Visitors immediately notice the lobby’s distinctive branding upon entering, as well as the attached lobby bar. Minotti, an Italian furniture manufacturer, provided the Brasila and Daiki lines, which were created by Marcio Kogan’s Studio MK27, for the room’s sofas, chairs, and tables. The GB bench by Geraldo de Barros and the Del Rei armchair by Brazilian Jorge Zalszupin, who is of Polish descent, are coupled with them. The shared space has a refined feel thanks to lamps and furniture from France, Italy, and Brazil that Ana Joma Fasano and Gero Fasano personally selected from vintage stores.
Gero Fasano has launched a second location inside Fasano So Paulo Itaim to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Gero restaurant. The location, which has 100 seats, also has a terrace for a stylish indoor-outdoor eating experience. A private dining room for parties of up to 20 people is available at the new Gero site, which is next to the hotel lobby.
The executive chef of the new establishment is Lomanto Oliveira, a renowned chef with more than 18 years of experience at the company creating elegant Italian food for the Fasano and Gero restaurant concepts in So Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and most recently Salvador.
The first level features a small, exclusive lounge where visitors can enjoy breakfast and which can be rented for small gatherings of up to 160 people. The 107 residential-style rooms at Fasano So Paulo Itaim, which span 20 stories, are broken down into six categories and range in size from 30 to 190 m2 (323 to 2,045 ft2). The bathroom decor is a timeless voyage through several generations of renowned Brazilian designers: the Matriz sofa by Jader Almeid, the slatted bench from Studio MK27, and the Vronka armchair from Sergio Rodrigues are merged. Images of ancient Italy, all of which Gero Fasano himself collected during his trips, are also used to decorate the suites.
The leisure area is made up of five spa treatment rooms, one of which is intended for couples therapy, two saunas (dry and conventional), a beauty salon, and a cutting-edge gym. The hotel has a business centre with five meeting rooms as well.
The bar and pool are located on the top floor of the building and offer panoramic views of the surrounding cityscapes and the close-by neighbourhood of Jardim Europa. The rooftop can host up to 40 people and is available for reservations from both daytime and overnight visitors.
Fasano So Paulo Itaim also has a residential block with 70 units of 288 to 500 m2 (3,100 to 5,382 ft2), as well as a recreation area, hotel amenities, and dining options.
The new Hotel is Fasano’s second in So Paulo and is situated at Rua Pedroso Alvarenga.
