Following the removal of quarantine for fully vaccinated travelers from France to the UK and the relaxing of restrictions for travel to Belgium and the Netherlands, more Eurostar trains are being added to meet rising demand.
Bookings for the high-speed Channel Tunnel passenger service doubled in August compared to July, and the service added 39 trains between the UK and the continent this month alone.
The busiest days for travel are 27th 0 30th August, when the bank holiday falls, with Paris being the most popular destination from the UK.
Since the government’s travel restrictions were eased earlier this month, the high-speed rail operator has seen a steady return of weekend travels, with a 105 percent increase in August and September weekend trips between London and Paris compared to the same period last year.
Leisure travel or visiting friends and family account for more than 80% of bookings.
From September 6 to November 1, an enhanced itinerary will have eight daily returns, five in each direction on the London to Paris route and three in each direction between London and Brussels, with one in each direction extended to Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
With one-way rates starting at £39, the new itinerary provides greater flexibility.
Eurostar has implemented new safety measures, including comprehensive cleaning of trains before each travel and cleaning crews on board to disinfect high-contact areas on a regular basis.
On board and in stations, all passengers must wear a mask. This applies even after you’ve checked in at London St Pancras.
