From tomorrow (29th November), the European Union will accept the NHS Covid pass as an equal to the Digital Covid Certificate.
Both the UK and Armenia’s certification processes were updated today, according to the European Commission.
The accession of the United Kingdom and Armenia brings the total number of countries “linked to the EU system” to 45 across four continents.
Didier Reynders, the EU’s justice commissioner, stated that the union was “open to other countries joining our system.”
Although the EU Digital Covid Certificate is not required for entry into Europe, it does provide a platform for travelers to certify their vaccination, recuperation, or test status.
According to Reynders in a recent interview with French media, third-country vaccine passports can be accepted in the EU, but “ideally on the basis of reciprocity.”
