There is now a brand-new non-stop train service running from London to Luton Airport (LLA).
East Midlands Railway (EMRLuton )’s Airport Express will take travelers thirty minutes to go from St. Pancras station to the airport.
The Luton Dart, a new automated electrically driven people mover that takes the place of the existing bus transfer service, will transport passengers from the point of arrival to the LLA terminal in less than four minutes.
The expansion follows the arrival of 1.2 million passengers at the airport in March, up 49% over the same month last year.
According to the most recent passenger data, the March figure takes the total number of travelers who have used LLA in 2023 to close to 3.3 million. This is the second month in a row that the airport has seen more than one million travelers.
Almost 420,000 people used the airport during half-term week in February, with flights to Austria, France, and Switzerland becoming more and more popular due to the demand for ski tourism.
Neil Thompson, operations director at LLA, said: “It’s great to see a continued rise in our year-on-year passenger numbers, a demonstration of the obvious appetite for air travel in 2023, and London Luton airport’s appeal.
“At LLA we’re focused on providing the simplest and friendliest end-to-end passenger experience, and this includes enhancing connectivity to the airport.”
