Emirates passengers can now watch a variety of acclaimed documentaries and films featuring the late Queen Elizabeth II, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles on the award-winning ice inflight entertainment system this October in honor of the iconic figures who have shaped both culture and history throughout the 20th century.
The ice line-up includes exclusive brand-new releases like Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts, a touching tribute that charts the remarkable life of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning British monarch and longest-serving female head of state in history. The ice line-up is celebrating its 17th year as the ‘World’s Best Inflight Entertainment’ at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The viewer is taken on a creative and emotional trip through the Queen’s lifetime by weaving together a sentimental montage of video of her over the course of 70 years.
Additionally, passengers can watch the critically acclaimed 2022 film Elvis, a biographical musical drama directed by Baz Luhrmann that has already been a runaway success at the box office.
The Beatles and India, a new documentary, invites music lovers to explore one of the world’s most influential bands, the British rock and roll quartet.
The Beatles’ long-lasting love affair with India is the subject of this unique historical account, which includes never-before-seen archival footage, photos, eyewitness accounts, and professional commentary on the contrast between their fast-paced celebrity lives in the West and their search for spiritual bliss in India, which inspired a prolific period of inspired songwriting.
Action fans can watch the blockbuster 2022 Top Gun Maverick movie and the original Top Gun (1986) starring the actor on ice in addition to the new documentary Val, which explores the life, career, and health difficulties of Hollywood star Val Kilmer.
The most popular genres on ice thus far in 2022 are comedies, action, thrillers, and documentaries.
Emirates regularly updates its in-flight entertainment, adding hundreds of films, TV series, podcasts, and music channels to its vast selection.
On an Emirates flight, passengers have access to a world-class entertainment selection that includes more than 45 Academy Award®-winning movies, 5,000 channels of on-demand programming, more than 1,500 films and 1,500 hours of TV, as well as music, podcasts, and audiobooks in 40 different languages and 5 live TV channels.
In order to maximize the seamless travel experience, passengers can also build their own ice experience prior to takeoff by browsing and pre-selecting movies or TV shows on the Emirates app. These selections can then be synchronised to ice the minute they board.
