Emerald Azzurra, Emerald Cruises’ first custom-built superyacht, has completed its initial sea trials with flying colors.
The sailings took place over 48 hours in Ha Long, Vietnam.
Before the inaugural voyage on 28th January 2022, the ship will receive its final touches and the crew’s training will be completed.
The Emerald Azzurra, a 100-passenger ship, will debut with an eight-day Best of the Red Sea program.
Scenic Group founder and chairman Glen Moroney, who owns Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, said: “During Emerald Azzurra’s sea trials, all design parameters were exceeded, including speed, noise, vibration and overall comfort and manoeuvrability while sailing.
“Emerald Azzurra really is a very special superyacht, and will undoubtedly deliver a fantastic experience for our guests.”
Emerald Azzurra joins Emerald Cruises’ fleet of nine river-cruising Star-Ships as the company’s tenth vessel. Emerald Luna, Emerald Cruises’ tenth Star-Ship, will join the fleet in the spring of next year, followed by Emerald Sakara, Emerald Cruises’ second superyacht, in early 2023.
