Next summer, EasyJet will increase its operations at the airports in Manchester and Belfast, respectively, and provide additional connections to the Greek island of Rhodes and Murcia in Spain.
On 2nd May 2023, the low-cost airline will launch flights to Murcia from its Manchester base by adding a 21st aircraft.
On 3rd June 2023, the airline will be able to launch services from Northern Ireland to Rhodes thanks to the addition of an eighth aircraft to its Belfast base.
Seat sales begin on 7th December for both new services, which operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays with an A320neo.
Business development director for Belfast International Airport, Uel Hoey, added: “We are delighted to acknowledge easyJet’s ongoing robust commitment towards air connectivity to and from Northern Ireland with their investment of significantly higher capacity in 2023 – and particularly welcome the addition onto their Belfast network of the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes for the benefit of those forward planning their next summer break.”
Chris Woodroofe, Manchester airport managing director, said: “We are pleased to see easyJet expanding its base here, having significantly increased the number of destinations it flies to from Manchester over the past year.
“It is also exciting to see the introduction of a Murcia service, which I am sure will be hugely popular with passengers this summer.”
The arrival of the new aircraft, according to Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK national manager, will enable the airline to deliver development at both airports and provide passengers with even more travel options.
