Eastern Airways, a regional airline based in Humberside, will begin a summer service to Jersey on June 19.
In collaboration with CI Travel Group and Premier Holidays, a new weekly Saturday service will be launched.
“Given the UK staycation growth, particularly this summer, we are bringing this popular Channel Island service to Jersey back to Humberside airport for the summer season,” said Roger Hage, the airline’s general manager.
“As passenger confidence increases following the UK’s relaxation of restrictions, we want to ensure the right services are being offered.
“Commencing Jersey will offer a welcome UK break destination from Humberside.”
Other routes, such as Gibraltar from Birmingham and Southampton and Newquay from Leeds-Bradford, have recently been added to the airline’s schedule.
The managing director of Humberside Airport, Deborah Zost, said: “We look forward to welcoming holidaymakers back to our airport, alongside business travellers who have relied on our ongoing operational support for airline and helicopter service providers throughout the pandemic.
“The return of the Jersey service as travel restrictions continue to ease is a positive sign of recovery for the UK economy.”
Managing director at CI Travel Group, Robert Mackenzie, added: “We have been associated with operating direct flights to Jersey from the Humberside region for many years. So, it is fantastic to be partnering with Eastern Airways this year to continue the popular service and offering holidays in this beautiful island.”
The weekly trip will operate until September 25th, with prices starting at £84.99 from Jersey.
From May 29, Eastern Airways will operate a weekly service from Teesside to Jersey on Saturdays.
