Following the arrival of two passenger ships, Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal has officially welcomed its first customers.
As Carnival Corporation officials walked through the hub, the AIDAbella and Costa Firenze docked at Dubai’s first dedicated cruise port.
The commencement of the Dubai cruise season coincided with the launch of the 120,000 square meter facility.
AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Seabourn are among the Carnival Corporation brands set to visit the cruise terminal by 2023. In that time, they are scheduled to make 90 calls between them.
The twin terminal cruise port has four boarding bridges that can facilitate the full turnaround of the largest cruise ships at the same time.
The structure has seating areas, washrooms, currency exchange outlets, ATMs, cafes, retail outlets, duty-free shops, dedicated parking, and taxi stands.
Costa Group and Carnival Asia’s group chief executive, Michael Thamm, said: “The two terminals stand as a tribute to the remarkable appeal of Dubai and the Arabian Gulf as a cruise destination.
“We look forward to working with Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal and its community partners to make Dubai Harbour a highly efficient and customer-friendly operation while facilitating new tourism opportunities through cruising in the region.”
