Como Hotels & Resort Reveals its New Private Island in Fiji

Como Hotels & Resorts is to add Como Laucala Island in Fiji to its collection of private islands on 15th December 2021.

The 25 standalone houses are scattered amid private beaches, azure lagoons, and volcanic mountains on the 5.4-square-mile island resort in the South Pacific.

The island has its own private runway and can be reached via private plane charter from Fiji’s Nadi International Airport in 45 minutes.

Each residence has a private pool and a Como butler, and is built with native Fijian wood in a ‘South Pacific style.’

The resort features a tropical 18-hole David McLay Kidd-designed golf course, as well as a variety of land and water activities such as a fleet of jet skis, sailing and game fishing boats, jet boats, and diving boats, horseback riding, mountain biking, nature excursions, and tennis.

Como Shambhala Retreat, the island’s wellness center, will feature a fitness studio that will offer fitness courses and yoga, as well as treatments that will incorporate Como Shambhala’s unique products as well as herbs, spices, flowers, and fruits.

Fresh produce from the resort’s 240-acre farm, which cultivates organic crops and livestock such as hens, quail, and wagyu cattle, will be used in five dining options that follow the brand’s farm-to-table philosophy. Local fishermen provide all of the fresh seafood supplies.

Como Shambhala choices are available on the menu, which is high in nutrients and low in fats and processed sweets.
