Cincinnati has been added as British Airways’ 27th US destination, and the airline has commemorated its first trip there.
On Monday, 5th June the first flight from Heathrow landed at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. By the departure gate, British-themed snacks were provided, and customers were entertained by musicians and performers.
The airport in Cincinnati, which served more than six million passengers in 2021, is within 120 miles of more than 11 million people.
Director of BA Networks and Alliances Neil Chernoff stated that “When we look at the Cincinnati region, we see a vibrant part of the US with a great mix of business and leisure travellers who have long asked for more international service and global connectivity, which is what made it so attractive to us and why we’re confident this new route will be a success.
“Our incredibly positive and welcoming conversations with the airport team, the business development community, and tourism partners – combined with all the region has to offer visitors from outside the US – were a clear sign that Cincinnati was the right place to expand our flying in America.”
CVG Airport’s CEO, Candace McGraw, continued, “This flight offers tremendous growth opportunities for business travel, economic development, and tourism between the UK and our region.”
Several sports teams, theatres, museums, and parks may be found in Cincinnati, while Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail extends into the state’s centre region in the south.
Currently, there are five weekly flights between Cincinnati and Heathrow and four weekly flights during the winter flying season.
