All remaining Covid travel restrictions will soon be lifted by the Cayman Islands, removing all testing, immunization, and registration requirements for travelers before or after their trip.
No matter where they are coming from, travelers will no longer need to arrive fully vaccinated or with a declaration. This change will take effect on today, 24th August.
Following a staggered, five-stage border reopening strategy, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism acknowledged the modification to the islands’ Covid-19 guidelines on Tuesday (23rd August).
Kenneth Bryan, the minister of tourism and transportation for the Cayman Islands, claimed that the new rules were “in harmony” with the present international context.
“Today is a great day in Cayman and we thank every traveller, partner, and member of our community for ensuring our government’s phased reopening plan remains a success,” he said. “At last, we can proudly say the Cayman Islands is open to all.”
Cayman director of tourism, Rosa Harris, added: “With each new phase of reopening we have seen an increase in visitor arrivals to our beautiful destination, and we recently celebrated a major tourism recovery milestone as we increased airlift capacity.
“We are ready to open our doors to everyone who wishes to visit us and believe that the future of Cayman tourism is strong.”
