From 1st April, the Canadian federal government will no longer need fully vaccinated travelers to obtain pre-departure Covid-19 tests.
The statement was hailed by Air Canada as “great news for the whole travel and tourist industry.”
Air Canada’s vice-president of government and community relations, David Rheault, said: “The removal of pre-departure testing requirements will continue to accelerate and stimulate the recovery of Canada’s travel and tourism industry, which we are committed to help rebuild through the restoration of our global network.”
The airline’s recovery “remains strong,” he added, adding that it has extended its domestic, transborder, European, and South Pacific international route networks.
Barcelona, Copenhagen, Madrid, Milan, and Venice are among the 33 European, African, and Middle Eastern routes that will be relaunched.
