Budget group easyHotel has opened its first hotel in Ireland with a location in Dublin.
The most recent addition brings the portfolio’s total number of hotels in Europe to 44, which is made up of owned, franchised, and leased properties in 11 different nations.
As part of plans to expand the size of its worldwide estate to 100 hotels by 2026, the company expects to open properties in 15 nations over the following 15 months.
The recently constructed 160-room hotel in the Irish capital is close to well-liked tourist destinations like the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar, and Dublin Castle. Heuston train station is also within walking distance of the hotel.
According to the firm, the hotel has been built to make sure that energy and space are used as effectively as possible to reduce its carbon footprint.
Karim Malak, the chief executive, said: “It’s fantastic to be opening our first hotel in Ireland and the dynamic city of Dublin.
“It’s a brilliant city which is gaining more and more traction with both tourists and business travellers, and we are looking forward to giving people affordable ways to experience it.
“I’m proud of our ability to offer people low-carbon stays which are friendlier towards the environment. Our compact hotel designs mean we use 15-20% less carbon than the market average for each stay.
“Guests will still enjoy all the important elements needed for a great night’s sleep – a comfortable mattress, blackout blinds and a quiet room.”
He added: “Our expansion strategy is targeting prime European capital cities for new easyHotels, and 2022 has seen us make good progress against this.
“We’re focused on delivering our plan to reach 100 hotels by 2026, having recently opened a new hotel in Madrid, with new hotels scheduled to open in 2023 in Paris and Zurich.”
