For summer 2022, Brittany Ferries will reintroduce its speedier UK-France cross-Channel ferry service.
Due to the epidemic, the French ferry operator discontinued its quicker two-hour 30-minute service, which it claims is the fastest passage on the Western Channel.
From 27th May through 4th September 2022, it will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a break between 5th June and 15th July.
Cherbourg, in Normandy, is connected to Portsmouth and Poole by this service. It will leave Portsmouth at 7:00 a.m. and arrive in Cherbourg at 11:00 a.m. The return train leaves Cherbourg at 11:45 a.m. and arrives in Poole at 13:15 a.m.
Condor Ferries will operate the sailings on behalf of Brittany Ferries, utilizing the Condor Liberation ship, which can carry 850 passengers and 200 automobiles.
The service complements Brittany Ferries’ regular car-ferry sailings from Poole to Cherbourg, which will restart on 28th March 2022, after being halted in 2020 because of low demand during the epidemic.
Brittany Ferries’ sales and marketing director, Paul Acheson, said: “As we emerge from Covid-19, we’re delighted to restore choice and flexibility for our customers as they make their cross-Channel travel plans for 2022.
“Demand is now roaring back, and we’re ready to meet it. Condor Liberation will offer passengers on our shorter routes to Cherbourg additional flexibility and choice.
“This will complement our conventional service operated by Barfleur on the Poole-Cherbourg route, and our overnight sailings from Portsmouth to Cherbourg with our newest ships Galicia and Salamanca.”
