After two years of Covid-19 interruption, Brittany Ferries has confirmed a full resumption to service this summer.
The resumption includes ships such as the Bretagne, as well as the return of services from Plymouth and Poole and an increase in the number of ferries traveling between Ireland and France.
Furthermore, on 27th March, the company’s first LNG-powered vessel, Salamanca, will begin service between Portsmouth and Bilbao.
After nearly 18 months out of service, Bretagne will resume service on the Portsmouth–St Malo route on 26th March.
After transporting freight between Portsmouth and Caen for nearly two years during the crisis, the Barfleur will resume sailings on the Poole-Cherbourg route on 4th April.
From March 26, the flagship Pont-Aven will start twice-weekly departures from Plymouth to Santander and once-weekly departures from Plymouth to Roscoff. From March 28, Armorique will also serve Roscoff on a daily basis.
Pont-Aven will also provide two weekly return trains between Cork and Roscoff.
Christophe Mathieu, the company’s CEO, stated: “We are delighted to confirm our ships and schedules for the summer season, which will bring renewed optimism and reassurance to staff, customers and port partners.
“The return of favourites like Bretagne at the end of March, coincide with the arrival of our first LNG-powered vessel Salamanca.
“She is a symbol of our commitment to our customers, our routes and to a more sustainable future. Three sister ships will join her in the years ahead, as fleet renewal gains pace.”
