At the end of the month, British Airways will restart nonstop service between Heathrow and Phoenix, Arizona.
After being halted due to the pandemic in March 2020, direct flights will resume on 31st August.
Flights leave Heathrow at 14.15 a.m. three days a week, arriving in Phoenix at 17.05. The return flight leaves at 19.15 and arrives in London at 13.15 the next day.
A three-class B777-200 will run the flights, which will last 10 hours and 50 minutes.
Travelers from the United States who are completely vaccinated against Covid-19 can enter the UK without having to go through quarantine, while leisure tourists from the United Kingdom are still prohibited from visiting the US.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said: “British Airways has been a key partner to the city of Phoenix and Sky Harbor International Airport for more than 20 years.
“This flight will contribute to the growth of our economy while providing travelers with a non-stop connection to Europe.”
Last month, British Airways provided more capacity to the US after bookings nearly doubled in the hours following the UK government’s statement that vaccinated US travelers to England would no longer be required to quarantine.
It added additional flights to New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
