British Airways Offers Fresh Food On Board Euroflyer Flights from London Gatwick

British Airways has improved the culinary options on board its short-haul Euroflyer flights departing from London Gatwick (LGW) as the airline prepares for a busy summer. The new option for travelers to buy fresh food the day of their trip rather than having to pre-order such meals is a crucial component of this project.

British Airways’ new menu for flights run by its Euroflyer subsidiary is not only more flexible, but also more comprehensive, as the airline said in a statement issued yesterday. For instance, it has added buy-onboard choices from established BA partner and Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, like falafel wraps and coronation chicken sandwiches.

The CEO of BA Euroflyer, Tom Stoddart, said: “We know that some customers want to order items in the moment, so we are delighted to give Euro Traveller customers the option to not only to pre-purchase, but to also order fresh food during the flight.”

A short search on the internet reveals that the new sandwiches and wraps cost between £5.24 and $5.98 ($4.20 to £4.80). Avios can also be used to pay, with rates in this case ranging from 600 to 690 points. As seen in the illustration above, BA suggests following them up with drinks like Punchy soft drinks.

At London Gatwick Airport, British Airways’ BA Euroflyer subsidiary was largely established to compete with low-cost airlines like easyJet. However, because its aircraft still have the Club Europe cabins found on the mainline fleet of the UK flag carrier, business class travel is still a possibility.

This summer, changes will also be made to this aspect of its offerings, according to Stoddart: “For those traveling in Club Europe, we have a number of delicious complimentary dishes and drinks for them to select from. We want to set ourselves apart from other carriers at Gatwick. We are the only airline to offer a business class product on every flight and a loyalty program. Coupled with our competitive fares, we have something to suit all holidaymakers.”
