As part of a broader set of sustainability initiatives, British Airways is providing new plant-based cuisines in its lounges.
The new menus will first be accessible in the airline’s Heathrow lounges before making their way to the airline’s US lounges.
In addition, BA is banning single-use plastic bottles from lounges, establishing water stations, and providing sustainability training to employees.
Customers in lounges can continue to order food via their mobile devices, a feature that BA decided to preserve after the epidemic.
The airline will begin offering an onboard service in its Club Europe cabin next month that will be more similar to the experience passengers enjoyed prior to Covid. In addition, the airline is planning the next phase of its long-haul catering.
A new baggage tracking technology allows clients to track their bags via their phones during their journey.
BA’s brand and customer experience director, Tom Stevens, said: “We want to create an even better British Airways and know that we need to keep making changes to the customer experience with things like alternative menus, reducing plastics and introducing new technology to get us to where we want to be.
“We are also moving ahead at speed with some of the larger initiatives that we promised to our customers, such as the roll-out of our award-winning business class seat, Club Suite.”
