Before the summer break, British Airways and Trunki have collaborated to introduce a limited-edition bag for young travelers.
The name Amelia the Aeroplane was chosen for the luggage in honor of Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic alone and a pioneer in aviation. Peggy the Pegasus and Leon the Lion, who can be found on British Airways’ activity packets for kids and at family check-in, are featured on the imaginative ride-on design along with a British Airways airplane.
Families can purchase the case for their young travelers from Shop Trunki for a suggested retail price of £45. The mission of Trunki is to make traveling enjoyable for kids while facilitating easy airport navigation for parents.
The newly branded British Airways Trunki cases are spacious enough to accommodate all the necessary goods to keep kids occupied on a flight and feature a comfortable saddle, horn grips, and carry handles.
Head of Brand & Marketing at British Airways, Hamish McVey, stated: “We love seeing children travelling around the airport on or with a Trunki, so we are really pleased to be partnering with them to create an aviation-inspired case. We can’t wait to see our smallest travellers take to the skies with their new luggage this summer.”
Rob Law, Creator and CEO of Trunki , said: “We were thrilled to be able to partner with British Airways and create a bespoke Trunki for young flyers and British Airways enthusiasts alike. Each case is manufactured at our UK factory in Plymouth, and we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership. A positive return from the pandemic!”
The British Airways Trunki was made in the UK using carbon-neutral manufacturing techniques, and it is packaged using recyclable materials.
As the airline prepares for the summer vacation period, this cooperation is a part of its ongoing commitment to family travel. Families are eligible for generous baggage allowances, and anyone flying with a child under the age of two is entitled to free seat selection at the time of booking.
Only British Airways has a family check-in area at London Heathrow Terminal 5, where staff members are available to assist. Young passengers may also enjoy some screen-free entertainment with the airline thanks to Skyflyer activity kits that include Peggy and Leon. A junior amenity kit with a colorful eye mask, animal print socks, crayons, and a postcard is included with each complimentary box. Families may fly knowing that the airline would ensure a smooth and stress-free journey for them at every stop.
