Beginning on Thursday (1st December), British Airways and American Airlines will begin operating from a renovated Terminal 8 at JFK airport in New York.
Five widebody gates, four widebody parking spaces, and a “expanded and enhanced” baggage processing system are among the operational improvements for Terminal 8.
In addition, the terminal has gained an additional 130,000 square feet of renovated space.
Once through security, the terminal offers three lounges, and customers flying in premium cabins on both airlines will be able to use a new co-branded check-in area with concierge-style service.
Five Oneworld carriers will call Terminal 8 home, the first stage of the $400 million reconstruction of JFK by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, with Iberia beginning operations this week and Japan Airlines in May 2023.
