The Balearic Islands’ government has opened a temporary gift shop selling “creative” items that promote the island’s new tourism regulations emphasizing sustainability and circularity.
The store, which is located in the capital of Majorca, sells gifts with the novel measures printed on them rather than typical tourist knickknacks.
Products that demonstrate how the new tourism law respects not just the rights of tourists but also those of employees, locals’ comfort, the quality of resources, and the environment include magnets, water bottles, mugs, aprons, and postcards.
On a towel hanging in the store, the new policy’s slogan, “The Balearic Islands, where workers are just as important as tourists,” is printed.
