Balearic Island Extends Free Covid-19 Insurance Offer Till End Year

The free Covid-19 insurance offer for Balearic Island visitors has been extended till the end of the year.

The Tourism Agency of the Balearic Islands has stated that RACE insurance will cover all foreign visitors (non-residents) for stays at licensed accommodation until 31st December 2021.

It said the policy’s extension is part of an effort to restore traveler confidence and stimulate demand, with a focus on families during the October half-term.

Free coverage was first made available in May, when the Balearic Islands developed a travel advisory website to notify visitors of Covid limits.

Medical, surgical, and hospitalization charges with a maximum limit of €15,000, medical expenses for transportation and repatriation, and the costs of prolonging a stay in regulated accommodation for the policyholder and their companions are all covered in the event of a Covid-19 infection.

The policy pays for expenses incurred as a result of the policyholder’s stay being extended owing to self-isolation or quarantine as a result of Covid-19.
