The Bahamas has relaxed Covid-19 travel restrictions by eliminating the requirement for fully vaccinated visitors to take a pre-departure test and fill out a travel health visa.
Unvaccinated travelers aged two and up, on the other hand, will be required to show proof of a negative PCR or antigen test performed no more than three days prior to travel.
Visitors will also no longer need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa to enter the country. Both changes will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday (19th June).
The Bahamas, according to Chester Cooper, deputy prime minister and tourism minister, are adapting to the pandemic’s “continued evolution.”
“We want to streamline the entry process for travellers as much as possible, all while ensuring we are protecting public health,” he added.
“We hope the changes to the pre-travel testing requirements combined with the elimination of the Travel Health Visa will reduce friction for travellers and further the recovery of our tourism sector.”
