With the much-anticipated opening of Baglioni Masseria Muzza, a resort in the southern Italian region of Puglia, Baglioni Hotels & Resorts formally welcomes its newest addition to the collection.
The freshly rebuilt Masseria’s center is an old whitewashed building from the 17th century that is surrounded by five acres of picturesque countryside. Baglioni Hotels & Resorts renovated and runs the Masseria. The quaint old stables and barns that house the 40 exquisitely furnished rooms and suites have high vaulted ceilings and authentic stone details. They are arranged around the central courtyard. The hotel offers accommodations with balconies and verandas that look out over the Alimini Lakes as well as others with sunset views over the surrounding olive fields, Mediterranean gardens, and Adriatic Sea.
Puglia is renowned for its thriving culinary scene, and Baglioni Masseria Muzza is home to three restaurants: Le Site, where visitors can partake in gourmet dinners; La Limonaia, which is perfect for those seeking authentic Salentine dishes; and the Mirto, which serves exquisite light breakfasts and lunches featuring Pugliese cuisine and has a lakeside infinity pool and ample outdoor dining space. The hotel has a lavish spa with a steam room, covered pool, 90°F Finnish sauna, ice fountain, relaxation area, sensory showers, and four treatment rooms as well as a gym with natural light for those who want to unwind.
Between Baia dei Turchi beach and Alimini Piccolo lake, Baglioni Masseria Muzza enjoys breathtaking views of both the countryside and the coast. Only 10 minutes away from the hotel is Otranto, a fortified UNESCO World Heritage Site with Greek, Turkish, and Roman influences on its culture and architecture. Otranto is positioned on the tip of Italy’s heel. Along with various gift shops and waterfront cafés, the town is home to a medieval castle and a Romanesque cathedral. One of Salento’s best beaches, Baia dei Turchi is protected by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano). It has a stretch of white sand that is surrounded by thick pine forests, making it only accessible by foot.

Yoga, running, walks, mountain biking, and horseback riding may all be done in a beautiful environment on the private estate and in the nearby countryside. Golf enthusiasts can play a few rounds at the close-by Acaya Golf Club. In addition, the breathtaking Salento coast from Otranto to Santa Cesarea Terme provides unmatched opportunities for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, kiteboarding, diving, and snorkeling.
