Although required testing begins at the age of six in Vienna, children under the age of 12 do not require proof of vaccination/recovery or a PCR test.
Teenagers aged 12 and above who were born on or after 1st September 2006, and have not yet been fully jabbed can download a ‘Holiday Ninja Pass’ to enter Austria, but they must undergo regular testing while there.
Teenagers born before September 2006 are subject to the same rules as adults.
The tourist bureau pointed out that PCR testing is free of charge for both natives and visitors in Austria.
Face masks are compulsory in all enclosed public venues, including restaurants, hotels, and cable vehicles when not sitting.
Masks are also required when social distancing with persons who are not members of your household is not possible.
Restaurants, cafes, and inns have a 10 p.m. curfew, while bars and nightclubs are closed.
