Beginning in December, Giorgio Armani will launch a new line of tableware and sleepwear exclusively for Etihad Airways’ business-class guests.
The airline has collaborated with the Italian designer’s interior design company, Armani/Casa, to introduce The Constellation Collection, which features coordinating pillowcases and duvet covers as well as ceramics, glassware, silverware, and serving ware.
The objects in the series were decorated with an exclusive geometric pattern that was inspired by the stars.
The color scheme is said to be influenced by Abu Dhabi’s surroundings, with slate reflecting the skyline’s modernity and aquamarine representing the mangroves. Dark green is said to be a nod to the area’s date palm palms.
According to Etihad, the usage of various textures also reflects the cultural variety of the UAE.
The tableware was created with the airline’s dedication to sustainability in mind, employing strong materials and a creative design to lighten the equipment by up to 10%, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
For added comfort, passengers on lengthier flights will also benefit from the airline’s new memory foam mattress in addition to the new pillowcase and duvet.
Tony Douglas, the group CEO of Etihad, stated: “Today we unveil a completely new and elevated way to fly with Etihad Airways – an experience defined by our Emirati heritage yet shaped by a clear vision for our future. Known globally for its Italian luxury and elegance, Armani/Casa is the ideal brand partner to create an unparalleled level of bespoke service and refinement for our guests.”
