American Express has launched a new sign up bonus offer which is probably one of the most generous ever offered by the card provider. American Express is one of the most popular rewards credit cards amongst collectors of miles and points because of the number of transfer partners the card works with.

The American Express® Business Platinum Card is currently offering a 100,000 sign up bonus for new cardholders that spend £10,000 within the first 3 months of membership. The highest ever sign up bonus offered on the Platinum Card was 50,000 membership rewards points. The latest sign up bonus offer doubles the highest record.
The American Express® Business Platinum Card has an annual subscription fee of £595 and in the pre Covid era offered a number of travel benefits. Whilst these benefits are still available, usage is limited as a result of the significant fall in global travel. Benefits of the platinum card include elite status with Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, Hertz and Avis as well unlimited access to lounges at airports across the world.
The American Express® Business Gold Card has increased its sign up bonus from 20,000 membership rewards points to 50,000 provided you spend £5,000 on the card within the first 3 months. The American Express® Business Gold Card has an annual subscription fee of £125 however this is free in the first year.
Both offers represent an excellent deal for any small business looking for a new corporate card. The Business Gold Card is probably the better of the two offers for the vast majority of businesses because the annual fee is waived for the first year. This allows businesses to earn the miles and then decide within the next 12 months whether they feel the annual fee justifies the value it offers them. The value of the Business Platinum Card really comes from its travel benefits which will have limited value for the next few months. Businesses can upgrade from the Business Gold Card to the Business Platinum Card at a later date.
