Starting on 1st December, all British Airways flights will depart from Terminal 8 at JFK, where they will share a brand-new check-in room and lounges with American Airlines.
A total of 130,000 square feet of new and rebuilt terminal space will be included, in addition to five new widebody gates, four new widebody hardstand parking spaces, a better baggage processing system, improved customer facilities, and expanded premium passenger choices.
When passengers arrive at Terminal 8, American’s previous Flagship First Check-In facility will be replaced by a co-branded premium check-in area offering individualized, concierge-style service for high-end travelers. For qualified business customers, a dedicated check-in area will be reserved exclusively for them.
Because the lounges are shared by AA and BA, they cannot use common names like Flagship Room or Concorde Room.
The names that BA and AA have come up with fit with either New York or London.
