This summer, Air Canada will resume daily, busy service between Edinburgh and Toronto, with the intention of continuing the service through the 2023–2024 winter and 2024–2025 summer seasons.
Beginning on 2nd June, the route will run “up to daily” until 28th October. At 9 a.m., flights from Edinburgh will land in Toronto and take off again at 11.10 a.m. Return flights from Toronto arrive in Edinburgh at 6.35 am (+1) after leaving at 7.05 pm.
This winter, up to 8th January, Air Canada will maintain three times weekly service on the route. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the winter, flights from Edinburgh will leave at 9 a.m. Moreover, the route is “scheduled to return in early spring 2024.”
A three-cabin Boeing 787 Dreamliner equipped with Air Canada’s Signature Class, premium economy, and economy will be used by the airline to operate the route. It said that flights had been scheduled so that customers could benefit from Air Canada’s extensive North American network.
“Our newly extended service from Edinburgh will not only provide our customers in Scotland with a direct link to Canada during both the summer and winter seasons, but also allow convenient onward travel options across North America,” said Air Canada general manager sales UK and Ireland, Stephen Gerrard.
Kate Sherry, chief commercial officer (aero) at Edinburgh airport, added: “Extending this service into the winter months is very exciting for us and we are really happy to see Air Canada’s confidence in the strong Edinburgh market through to January.”
The route completes Air Canada’s year-round Dublin-Toronto and Heathrow services to Toronto, Vancouver, Quebec, Calgary, and Halifax.
