Anyone who has ever been to Thailand would agree that it really is a beautiful country. Everyone I know who has been said they’ve had the time of their life – no matter what activities they chose to do.
There is so much to do, whether you want to lay on the beach, relax and soak in the sun with a cocktail, or go out and enjoy Thailands buzzing nightlife, you will never run out of fun of things to do.
Thailand is also known for its stunning natural scenery, and its plentiful wildlife. I know that I was most looking forward to seeing the elephants, who are so engrained in Thai culture.
This is the moment where a herd of around 50 or more elephants held up traffic to cross a road in Thailand.
The footage was taken in the Chachoengsao province of Thailand. The elephants emerged from the jungle off the side of the highway and attempted to cross over to the neighbouring area of the jungle.
Police officers arrived to make sure the elephants crossed the highway safely.
They weren’t the only people to arrive as locals were seen gathering on either side of the road to watch the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.
The group of elephants, who seemingly crossed the highway calmly with no issues, were being tracked by wildlife rangers.
“More than 50 wild elephants crossed the highway. They were moving together from one part of the jungle to the other.
”The wildlife officers had been following the elephants for the last few days. When they saw that their path was moving towards the road, they called the police and urgently closed the road.
”Policemen arrived to ensure that the elephants crossed smoothly and there were no accidents. Nobody minds waiting for the elephants, as the most important thing is that they’re safe.
”The elephants were all so calm and barely noticed the humans. I feel very lucky to have seen such an amazing sight.”
What an amazing sight, to be graced with the presence of 50+ majestic elephants at once!
Thailand is full of sights similar to this, with its plentiful wildlife, nightlife, scenery and food, it should be on everyone’s bucketlist.
You will never have a dull moment when travelling in Thailand, trust me!
